Are you looking for a new light fixture for your bedroom? What styles have you considered - a standard
flush mount light fixture or a semi-flush mount light? You probably have not even considered a chandelier
for your bedroom. But, I suggest that you should.
A master bedroom tends to be the perfect place for the installation of a chandelier. Master bedrooms
are usually the most decorated and sophisticated bedrooms in any house. Therefore, just like a dining
room which tends to be more formal, a chandelier is a perfect lighting option. And with the range of
chandeliers available today, you are sure to find the perfect chandelier style for your bedroom style.
If you have a modern themed bedroom, choose a modern chandelier. Modern chandeliers may be done
in chrome and clear glass with little ornate detailing. A new trend in chandeliers and other metals
in home decor is the use of antiqued brass. It is not the shiny brass of the 1980's but, rather a dulled
version of the metal. Many designs of chandeliers can be found in many metals including chrome, silver,
brushed silver, pewter, nickel, bronze, gold and brass. Most of these metal chandeliers are also available in
the antiqued version of the metal.
Modern chandeliers often are designed with clean lines in clean geometric shapes. These shapes include
round circles or orbs, rectangles and squares.
Another modern material used in chandeliers today is clear acrylic as opposed to glass. Acrylic is lighter
than glass but provides the same transparency for light proliferation throughout your bedroom.
For a more eclectic styled bedroom, choose a more traditional chandelier in your modern bedroom. The
contrast and tension can be very interesting and stylish. Putting a traditional crystal chandelier in a
very modern bedroom may certainly make the chandelier a focal point as everyone will notice the crystals
of the chandelier. If you are not ready to install a crystal chandelier in your modern bedroom, you can
opt for a traditional transitional chandelier which incorporates both traditional and modern aspects.
Choosing an antique brass or bronze chandelier with modern detailing such as glass panels or glass votives
can provide just enough interest in the chandelier to suit your modern bedroom perfectly.
